Hi, I’m Ryan Pinkston, and welcome to Applixo.
I live in Dearborn, Michigan, where I work as an automated teller machine technician for id Boutiques. If you think that sounds like a strange background for someone who runs a home appliance review blog, you’re not entirely wrong—but hear me out.
I was born in August 1987, which makes me a Leo. I’ve spent the better part of my career taking apart ATMs, diagnosing technical problems, and understanding how machines are supposed to work versus how they actually work in real life. After spending your days elbow-deep in circuit boards and cash dispensers, you start to develop a pretty keen eye for what makes a machine well-built, reliable, and worth your money.
A few years ago, my partner and I were shopping for a new dishwasher, and I was shocked by how difficult it was to find honest, detailed reviews that actually explained how these things work and whether they’re worth the investment. Most reviews either felt like marketing copy or were so technical they lost sight of what real people actually need to know: Will this thing last? Is it easy to use? Does it actually do what it promises?
That’s how Applixo was born. I realized I could use my technical background to bridge that gap—to review home appliances not just as a consumer, but as someone who understands what’s happening under the hood. I test everything I review in my own home, pay attention to build quality, and I’m not afraid to tell you when something’s overpriced or poorly designed.
On this blog, you’ll find in-depth reviews of everything from kitchen gadgets to major appliances, buying guides to help you make informed decisions, and practical tips for getting the most out of what you already own. I believe that good appliances shouldn’t be a luxury—they should be reliable tools that make your daily life easier and last long enough to be worth the investment.
When I’m not testing the latest coffee maker or disassembling a vacuum to see what makes it tick, you might find me tinkering with my 1995 Renault Safrane (yes, it’s quirky, and yes, I love it), or just enjoying a quiet evening at home with the appliances that actually earned their place in my kitchen.
I started Applixo because I believe people deserve honest information before they spend their hard-earned money. No affiliate links that cloud judgment, no sugarcoating—just straightforward reviews from someone who knows how to look beyond the marketing.
Thanks for stopping by. I hope you find something here that helps you make a smarter purchase—or at least saves you from buying something you’ll regret.
